Problem

Young managers become depressed because of lack of communication with older colleagues who can’t manage them under WFH (working from home) conditions in Japan.

Hypothesis

Older colleagues believe that there is no lack of communication with young managers because of confirmation bias.

Intervention

The app which creates automatic background on teleconference based on participants color selection and comment before sign-in.

Design Strategy

It helps young managers to start informal conversation in the online meeting by providing the feelings of the participants.

Outcome

Young managers will be able to have an opportunity to start informal conversation with older colleagues and smooth communication without any stress

Learnings through prototype

1) It is effective for groups that don’t normally set up virtual backgrounds.

2) People want to update their comments while meeting.

3) Let all participants choose color mood and add comments in the meeting to have the same context.
