¿Como Se Dice? is an ice breaker designed to encourage deep conversation and seed new connections among women students in STEAM.

The tool was co-created with Constelar, a Costa Rican non-profit that runs Fenix Comunidad Académia, a network of female students interested in leadership and STEAM careers.

Constelar wants to nurture its incoming class of members and volunteer student leaders, and to reimagine Fenix meetings. Students describe current meetings as limited, one-sided and impersonal. They crave opportunities to share their stories, build confidence and grow their leadership skills. 

The tool aims to spark dialogue during online meetings and to encourage socializing among members.  Users roll the two virtual dice to select a question and initiate conversation among their peers. Questions range from the personal to the professional, touching on subjects like personal dreams and workplace gender equality. 

Como Se Dice hopes to transform meetings from informational sessions to moments of sharing and relationship building. By sparking conversation, students are able to know each other as students, professionals, women, and build the bonds that will sustain the greater Fenix community.
