Duet for Drill and Mirror
Duet for Drill and Mirror born after a nocturnal exploration in the analogue world of materials. I was interested in the relation between speed and light to obtain a kind of visual that is usually made through digital effects and vj-ing software.
I decided instead to not use digital effects or any type of color correction and manipulation, playing only with materials. I used a drill, a small round mirror, transparent tape, the red light of my bike and the flash/screen light of my cellphone. My intent was to achieve a tridimensional sensation through a rotating light source - a reflected light - in this particular case.
As I want to develop a narrative structure and a dynamic evolution too and not only an "aesthetic", nice, experiment, I consider this work unfinished. So I recreated this set in my home in Italy, where I shot new footage.
