Grass in the wind

Student: Martino Bilello  ·  Year: 2014  ·  Course: Introduction to Programming

In the first three days of this class the aim was to learn how to draw shapes and animate them through coding. We learnt that the software can also do the work for you, by producing several drawings at once and animating them.

In the last two days, we were asked to emulate a natural phenomenon. Grass shaken by the wind inspired my final assignment of this course.

Being exposed to coding for the first time, making Grass in the Wind helped me understand algorithmic thinking. Discovering that a function can make a shape behave in a natural like way and that in a series of lines any single one can move independently from the others were some the key learnings of the course.
