Interlink

Student: ANIRUDDH RAVIPATI  ·  Year: 2021  ·  Course: Graphical User Interface

For the weeks in the Graphical User Interface class, the brief was to convey, through an app, a concept that I had learnt at CIID.  From the outside looking in, there was a certain gap that I had to cross when it came to interaction design. This was a good opportunity to cross that gap.

I started my research from the ID Sketchbook that we used during IxD week. That starting point took me a bit deeper into other authors of new media studies - Negroponte & McLuhan. I realized that there was a deeper implication to studying interaction design as a focus.  I wanted to distill what I thought about. Doing that through app interactions and interfaces was an interesting challenge.

This resulted in Interlink. Interlink is an essay. It is highly esoteric in its viewpoint. The essay/app talks about how digital interactions attempt to leverage human communication streams - touch, sound, the subtleties of speech and sight. As the sections progress, the essay arcs to an existential conclusion and an aside.
