Constelar envisions an inclusive Costa Rica, where opportunities to take entrepreneurial paths in STEAM are available to all women. Critical to this ecosystem is a robust network of next generation talent. They currently have a program called FENIX (academic clubs) that supports connection and learning amongst students, professors, researchers, and graduates across universities.

During its first year, FENIX members and leaders have met each other for targeted agendas like speaker events or planned meetings, most of them remote. The shift from being a centralised community to student driven community is exciting but daunting and here is where having spaces to share their current thoughts and challenges become not important, but necessary. So we wondered: How can we support the community and these young women? How can we make this journey more joyful and easy?

We decided to focus on how it  feels to be a leader within FENIX and how to empower ownership of this process.

La Salidita eliminates the weight of event planning for FENIX leaders, so they can create unique experiences that bring people together through a set of cards.

The deck includes small recipes to create easy events for new and expert leaders. It provides an easy way to get to know each other and build a stronger community. 

For each card, we designed activities that fit within the context of their everyday lives.They show the level of effort according to the different requirements needed to set the activity. There are different activities according to the leader's needs in terms of community building: support, commitment, sharing knowledge and skills, fun, inspiration, networking, etc. The deck comes with a framework that helps each leader plan and communicate each one of the activities. The framework can also be used to reflect about the process.

La Salidita- ¡Hagamos algo!  takes the weight off of thinking about what to do and what to talk about. We give the “what” so that they can get to the “who”: “ who” they are and   “who” the other is, so they can get to know each other and spark the creation of meaningful relationships between them.
