Language Analysis
This graphical representation aims to illustrate some different linguistic patterns used with different kinds of interlocutors during written conversations and interactions on Facebook, LinkedIn and Gmail.
I analyzed the way I write with three diverse typology of people: my closer friends, my lover and some of my job colleagues. I put the collected data in a Processing sketch establishing a direct proportionality between the frequency of use of some words and their font size in order to give more visual importance to the recurrent expressions. The resultant representation highlights how the way I write changes depending on the relationship with the interlocutor.
The learning of this exercise has been to empathize with an external point of view, making sure that other people can easily understand, at a glance, what I want to communicate.
