Dimensions have long been a source of debate amongst thinkers, and have also been a huge source of creativity for artists throughout time, due to the severe abstract nature of the subject. For the general masses, pondering such a subject often concludes with either “whoa, how interesting’,and ends there due to the limits of their knowledge on the subject, or it concludes with ‘I don’t get it, let’s talk about something else.’

So, how does one learn about the different dimensions associated with reality, without having to spend the time learning so much theory first? Well, most people can grasp and understand up until the third dimension (which is the dimension humanity inhabits), and many know that time is somehow the fourth, but how does one wrap their head around the rest?

Layers of String is an app that teaches people about the eleven different dimensions associated with our reality (according to string theory). It is meant for people who are new to the subject of dimensions, and for people trying to understand what different dimensions mean, and how they work. This phone app, as a teaching tool, would be a way for people to understand about the invisible forces at work around them.

A key learning from this project was figuring out how to visualize and explain higher dimensions beyond the one that humanity is currently in, which can get really tricky.
