What if we could see that heartbeat?

Queen of Hearts is the heartbeat of the jungle, visualized on a wearable leaf heart.

Made with an Arduino heart rate monitor, this simple LED contraption postulates what it would be like to be able to see something so intimate. Would it change the way we interact with each other? With abstract concepts, like the jungle?

The first part of our time La Selva Biological Station doing Wild Interfaces, we were challenged to immerse with nature and get comfortable with our environment. By spending the morning making an installation of heart shaped leaves on my own body through Face Nature, I decided to embrace a heart theme for this sketch.
