[RE]frame
Mental health in both children and adolescents has worsened since the outbreak of the 2020 pandemic. Strategies and tools to help youngsters to cope with issues such as anxiety and depression should be a must in the educational system. Inspired by the development of resilience from an early age, the CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy) model and SDG #3 that promotes good health and well-being, frame was developed.
frame is a service that schools use to help their 13-year-old students to reframe situations in a more positive way.
The service aims to help 13-year-olds to reframe situations in a more positive way by giving them access to a life tool for them to generate more positive alternatives. The service is divided in 2 phases, the first being a hands-on collaborative workshop and afterwards providing a supportive companion in the form of an app for them to use whenever they need it the most either by doing the role playing scenarios or inputing their personal situations and thoughts.
Although the service is intended for 13-year-olds, the service will be getting to them through the school for a couple of reasons. The first of them is that the service can be offered to schools as a perk (exclusive of schools) to improve the mental well-being of their students, the second reason is that some schools are already doing different workshops (for example self-esteem workshop) so it feels natural to integrate the workshop into their flow and the third reason is making accessible a proven tool to debate thoughts for people who are not going to therapy.
frame’s endgame is to make mental health and well-being a priority from an early age, to show that having greater control of our thoughts is a skill that can be learned.
Think (more) positive
