Splattering Ink
During this one-week course, I learned some of the basics of visual programming such as drawing shapes, using noise and random functions, and registering user inputs. Furthermore, our goal for this course was to create an animation inspired by a physical phenomenon using Processing, a Java-based programming language.
I chose splatter ink as inspiration because I have been always fascinated with graffiti, especially seeing the wild beauty of the paint splattering on the wall. To replicate this phenomenon, I watched a slow-motion video of splattering ink many times and attempted to create an interactive piece in which a click of the mouse would trigger the ink splattering on the canvas.
For a novice at programming, it was difficult at first to understand the logic of a new language. However, I am very excited to use it as a prototyping tool for future projects.
