Stop Motion Experiments

Students: Haz Roth, Paula Te  ·  Year: 2014  ·  Course: Experimental Imaging

We experimented with creating stop motion animations over two days. The focus was on the exploration of the range of materials and tools used in photography, so we created short animations with many different objects: toy rhinos, cookies, paper, clay, and foil.

Even though the focus was not on the narrative of the animation, it was fun to see how the object’s material qualities created personality and fiction through the animations.

The animations were made using a Canon DSLR and Dragonframe.
