Tatt-You
At the beginning of this course we received a question, “what would you be if you were not a designer?” The answer for me was a tattoo artist. For these three weeks I decided to explore the tattoo world and learn more about the machines and information about this activity. As a way to explain the discoveries made through this research, “Tatt-You” was created.
The idea behind the app was to explain some important information about tattoos, what types of machines exist, the difference between machines, a guide for how to assemble them, and be able to visualize paper drawings of tattoos onto your body in a realistic way using the camera.
Using “Origami” it was possible to create a high fidelity prototype to show in an aesthetic and functional way the idea behind this app. The aesthetic of blackwork tattoos was the inspiration to create the visual part, digitally drawing the machines to have this kind of style and having this “dark style” in the rest of the icons and visuals in the project.
To create this project in just two weeks the process was a little bit different, iterating and changing visuals and interactions a lot of times in a small period of time. The time crunch made this course something really challenging but fun.
