An adventure to explore the past and reimagine the future

In a present where the old natural, cultural and individual identity crisis of Costa Rica has worsened even more. We face a future that requires a complete reimagining of the way we live. Expanding our vision of the future seems vital.

Community separation and its symptoms can be seen throughout many of Costa Rica's towns. Fostering community union, creativity, and local action could be key in bringing new thinking into very old problems. But more so, it implies new values inspired by regenerative and holistic thinking.

Future Past is a tool designed for a community's active citizens that are looking to awaken togetherness and curiosity in their neighborhood. It is an adventure for the neighborhood to explore their past, reimagine their future - and to have fun together, outside.

The tool facilitates an asynchronous collaboration between neighbors using surprise artifacts, gambits and anchor points. Inviting people to surprise installations co-created by local artists and hosted by the community's active citizens.

Changing the world is changing the way we experience it. Throughout the course of a month, the town travels into an alternative world where the past meets the future. Sharing fantastic stories and art pieces full of local folklore, mysticism and imagination.
