Veeer encourages spontaneity on road trips by revealing little adventures along the way.

Anyone who has been on a road trip knows that the most memorable stops or routes have stories attached to them. These stories, more than just 'points of interest' or casual pin-drops, inspired the creation of Veeer. The service provides road trippers with opportunities for more adventures, emphasizing the car as more than just a tool for transportation.

Finding these new adventures, called “veeers”, is facilitated by the Veeer ecosystem. As you drive, nearby veeers appear on a mobile application, which can be synched with onboard navigation. Veeer encourages serendipitous discoveries; these places are only visible when you are within an adjustable radius. Veeers are submitted by other road trippers who have experienced adventures and want to share these stories with others

Veeer was prototyped extensively by hacking together existing services and methods such as If This Then That, Instagram, Tumblr, iCloud, and Google Maps. Various combinations enabled fully immersive experience prototypes that were tested with real users. The design process used to develop Veeer was iterative and built on these experience prototypes.

People set out on road trips with an adventure state of mind. Veeer promotes this mindset by offering spontaneous side-trips that allow road trippers to fulfill their expectations for an unforgettable experience.
