Viandar Piz
Viandar Piz was a project exploring Graphical User Interface (GUI) techniques using tools such as Framer and Figma. The initial prototype was done in Figma and then taken into Framer for higher fidelity.
In Viandar Piz, users are able to learn about different mountain ranges in the European Alps, the food found in the region and compare the user’s current election with the elevation of the mountain they are looking at. The prototype was originally focused on well-known mountain ranges in the world such as the Rockies, the European Alps, Andes, and Himalayas. Eventually the project narrowed into and focused on the European Alps due to the variety of information available. It explored techniques to show that information in pleasing and easy to understand forms
The user is able to scroll through a list of the Alpine countries and pick the one they are interested in. They are then taken to a screen to explain a bit of the history of the country and a wheel with three sub-categories: Mountains; Food; Compare. Starting with the mountain category, the user is able to choose from a list of the top five most well known peaks of the area. Then they choose their mountain and are given some facts about it and are able to view a panoramic shot from the top of the peak. Once the user has finished looking at the mountains, they can go back and view the food of the area. Similar to the mountain category, the food category has the top five most well known dishes of the area and the user can scroll through and learn about them. When the user gets to the comparison page, they can input their location and be shown a side-by-side comparison of their elevation with the mountain elevation they are looking at.
