Weather Gesture

Student: ALEX PENMAN  ·  Year: 2018  ·  Course: Rapid Experience Prototyping (GUI)

Weather Gesture is an exploration in simple, gestural interfaces. The main goal of the app is to keep the screen free of clutter and display only important information. The interactions are designed to make extra weather details accessible through discoverable gestures. By using Origami, the mockups are brought to life through an interactive prototype that showcases all of the gestures.

Weather Gesture allows the user to scroll through the current day, even going back in time to compare historical data. By tapping the center of the screen, the UI scrolls back to the current time. Long pressing shows more detailed information about the weather. Swiping down brings open the settings and location while swiping up shows the weekly forecast. It’s meant to address some of the pains felt in current weather apps all while avoiding information overload.
