You in the Wonderworld
'You in the Wonderworld' is an application that turns the viewer of the animation "Alice in Wonderland" into a new character inside the movie, such as a butterfly.
As soon as you approach the video, you turn into a butterfly flying in the animated scene according to your movements and distance from the screen. The closer you are, the bigger the butterfly gets. You play as if the butterfly could actually result in taking over Alice or the other way around - a bit like the butterfly being a protagonist in the tale. By the way you see the movie and interact in it, the Processing application produces a bookmark of the “unwritten story” you have played inside the tale of “Alice in the Wonderland”.
This bookmark has the metaphor of a comb and each tooth marks a relevant scene of Alice’s animation. For each of those teeth, there is a butterfly on top, scaled according to the role the butterfly played in the movie. Having a butterfly close-up in the movie (being big in size) would result in being big on the bookmark, reminding of the big role she had during that scene.
The aim of this project is to encourage the creation of new storytelling out of traditionally oral-transmitted tales.
